Shabbat Hike and Service
December 1, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join us in celebrating Shabbat morning on Saturday, December 1st in the beautiful Tucson outdoors with a Shabbat Morning Hike and Service at Catalina State Park with Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon. We’ll meet in the parking lot at 9:00 a.m. and hike the Canyon Loop Trail, hold Shabbat services during the hike and enjoy Kiddush together. Anyone interested in continuing on for a more challenging hike to Romero Pools is welcome to do so!
When: Saturday, December 1st from 9:00 a.m. to noon (or so)
Where: Catalina State Park Trailhead (near the large parking lot)
Who: Congregation Beit Simcha “Wilderness Explorers”
How Hard: The Canyon Loop Trail is rated easy (good for the whole family), but it’s not stroller or wheelchair friendly. The Romero Pools continuation, if you choose to do it, is rated moderate to hard.
If you have a State Parks pass use it–if not, the entrance fee is $7 per vehicle. There is no charge for the Shabbat Hike and Service, and we’ll provide challah and juice or wine for kiddish!
